PRO. RAJIV VELICHETI graduated from the National School of Drama, Delhi with a specialization in Design & Direction in the year 1998. He translated plays into Telugu from Hindi and English. He wrote the script for the film "Gafla" and also wrote scripts for nearly 100 hours of fiction programs. He taught acting design and direction at different universities. Presently, he is working as a professor of performing arts in the department of theatre arts, university of Hyderabad, India.
Mr. Rajiv Velicheti did his post-graduation in English Literature from Osmania University. He has 15 years of experience in theatre as an actor, designer, director, and writer. He worked with prominent theatre directors like B.V. Karanth, Ramgopal Bajaj, K.N. Panikkar, Robin Das, Prasanna, Bansi Kaul, Anuradha Kapur, Tripurari Sharma, M.K. Raina, and N.K. Sharma among others. Directed plays include 'Macbeth', Girish Karnad's 'Nagamandala', Sophocles's 'Antigone', Bol Ari O Dharti Bol -an adaptation of a Telugu novel Gopatrudu as a Hindi play- and an adaptation of Gabriel Garcia Marquez's 'One Hundred Years of Solitude' as a Hindi play 'Ek Sadi Tanha Akeli'. Six years of working in Television as a producer-director and writer. The written screenplay of Gafla, a Hindi feature film, was selected for the Indian Panorama, in 2007 and invited to various festivals in India and abroad. Taught acting for a semester at Film and Television Institute, Pune. He had conducted theatre workshops at the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, and in Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, and Delhi. Mr. Rajiv translated Shakespeare's 'Macbeth' and Brechts 'Caucasian Chalk Circle' into Telugu. Areas of interest are: design and direction applied theatre, cultural politics, and theorizing practice.
Madan Mohan is a young theatre director, art-maker, actor and researcher in the field of theatre and associated with theatre for the last fifteen years. He studied science up to graduation, master's in Hindi and also in Performing arts (Film & Theatre) from Mahatma Gandhi Antarrshtriya Hindi University, Wardha, Maharashtra. He started theatre associated with IPTA, patna. two years work as joint secretary of Ipta, patna. After working for eight years in Ipta he develop a self-theatre group named CANVAS, patna and working with canvas for the last seven years. He mainly works on ‘political theatre’, his research published on political theatre of India, the political dimension in Sanskrit drama, the relation between literature and cinema, the interconnection between Hindi poem and theatre etc. At present, he doing research as a PhD scholar on Mahabharata-based plays of Bhasa. Attend many workshops like Acting, Writing, Chhau, Theatre Teacher, etc, also attend child workshops, young workshops, and theatre training programs as a mentor. He directed more than fifteen plays and received an individual grant for ‘Vipathaga’ from the ministry of culture, India. His major work is Vipathaga, Gabarghichor, Tamaweeni, Padmank gatha, Virah Gatha, Rasa-Bal-Buddhi, Samvatsar Katha, Khyateer Bidambona, Yayati, Aurat, Ye bhi to hinsa hai, Oedipus, Juloos, Bhomaa Courtmartial, Rakta-kalyan, Spartacus, Caligula and many more.
Now he is also working on Marg-Natya(A theatre form based on the Natyashastrical theatre method) with Kalamandalam Piyal Bhattacharya.
